What to look for

Undermount basins need a stone or solid top that can be cut out.
Style of install: decide between above counter, undermount, semi-recessed or wall hung before choosing a vanity or bench.
Tap hole and overflow: check whether the basin has a tap hole and overflow, as this decides which mixer will fit.
Size: measure the bench or vanity top and leave room for the tapware and elbow space.
